G-YOTSG-YOTS was built by Aerostar in Bacau, Romania in 1990. She was used with DOSAAF for flight training logging about 150 hours before being pushed to the back of the hangar where she remained until 2003. She was re-built and imported to the UK that year based at Southend Airport until August 2006.

"Yottie" has had all MPD's and AD's carried out on her to be compliant with UK specification. She has also got a few additional goodies not seen on many Yak 52's such as long range tanks, wing tips with strobes and a three blade MT9 propeller seen more on Sukhoi's usually than Yaks.

GearThe tricycle landing gear is retractable, but it remains partially-exposed in the retracted position offering a measure of protection should the plane be forced to land on an unprepared surface during an emergency. The three blade propeller will incur damage in this situation unlike the 2 blader.
